I think that this magazine is very calm.
They cover up the Masthead but leave a space so that you can read words at the top but not by the masthead.
The magazine colours and bands are for both female and male.

This is a good magazine for pop because its bright and has four popular pop singers as the centre image. They choose a good background to suite the title or the other way round depending on how old the magazine is because they wont change the masthead but make the pictures and writings. The magazines colour and style is very eye catching because of the brightness and popularity of the celebrities. This magazine is very male and female because of the artists they include like springsteen and eminem. The picture could seem both because of the way one of them are dressed or by the fact there all women but the style of there music is female orientated.

Rock music is very female and male orientated depending on which band which is why kerrang uses a fair few bands on the front cover to apply to most styles and bands.
Even thought there are a few photos they do blends in apart from the ones top right which they should of missed out or put in front of the centre images arm.
The colours do make the writing stand out and seem loud which rock music is supposed to be but it is abit in your face and busy.
The fact they are the only magazine with an interview a bands new album is hardly noticeable.
